Discount Rule Templates

4 minutos de leitura

This documentation is intended to demonstrate some coupon rule templates that can be created on the Soul platform. Use this guide to understand how the rules work or as a basis for developing your own coupon discount rules.

This documentation is only for coupon rule configuration. To learn the complete process of creating a coupon rule from scratch, please read our “How to Create a Discount Coupon?” documentation.

The coupon will be applied only when the cart subtotal is greater than or equal to X amount. #

If you want the coupon to be applied only when the cart subtotal is greater than or equal to a specific amount, for example, if the purchase exceeds R$ 400.00 or R$ 500.00 in the total cart value, check the template below.

Go to the “Conditions” tab of your Shopping Cart Price Rule.

In the first condition of the rule, keep the default configuration, meaning leave it as “If all these conditions are true”.

Click on the addition (+) icon. In the “Choose a condition to add” section, select “Subtotal”, which is listed under the cart attribute conditions

Click on the “is” connector, which is set by default, and change it to ” equals or greater than“

Finally, click on the three dots (…) and enter the desired value in the field.

For example, if you want the coupon to be applied only when the cart value is equals or greater than R$ 300.00, enter 300 in the field.

Feel free to adjust the value as needed!

The coupon will be applied only when the cart subtotal is less than X amount. #

If you want the coupon to be applied only when the cart subtotal is less than a specific amount, for example, if the purchase is less than R$ 5,000 or less than R$ 6,000 in the total cart value, check the template below.

Go to the “Conditions” tab of your Shopping Cart Price Rule.;

In the first condition of the rule, keep the default configuration, meaning leave it as “If all these conditions are true”..

Click on the addition (+) icon. In the “Choose an option to add” section, select “Subtotal”, which is listed under the cart attribute conditions.

Click on the “is” connector, which is set by default, and change it to “less than”.

Finally, click on the three dots (…) and enter the desired value in the field.

For example, if you want the coupon to be applied only while the cart value is less than R$ 5,000, enter 5000 in the field.

Feel free to adjust the value as needed!

Percentage Discount Coupon on Order #

If you want the coupon to apply a percentage discount on the cart total, for example, 10% off the entire cart, check the template below.

Go to the “Actions” tab of your Shopping Cart Price Rule.;

In the “UPDATE PRICES USING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION” configuration, keep the “Apply” field set to the default value, which is “Percent of product price discount”.

Next, fill in the “Discount Amount” field with the percentage discount you want to offer.

For example, if you want to provide a coupon that applies 10% off the order, enter “10” in the “Discount Amount” field.

Feel free to adjust it according to your preference!

Fixed Amount Discount Coupon on Order #

If you want the coupon to apply a fixed amount discount on the cart total, for example, R$ 50.00 off the entire cart, check the template below.

Go to the “Actions” tab of your Shopping Cart Price Rule;

In the “UPDATE PRICES USING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION” configuration, change the “Apply” field to “Fixed discount amount for the entire cart”.

Next, fill in the “Discount Amount” field with the fixed amount you want to offer.

For example, if you want to provide R$ 50.00 off the order, enter “50” in the “Discount Amount” field.

Feel free to adjust it according to your preference!

The coupon will be applied only to products in a specific category. #

This template will only teach you how to configure the rule so that the coupon applies only to products in one or more categories.

For the rule to work correctly, you must also follow other templates to configure the discount as a percentage discount or fixed discount.

In other words, if you want your rule to apply a 10% discount and work only for products in one or more categories, first check the “Percentage Discount Coupon on Order” template and then follow this template to learn how to apply the discount only to specific categories.

If you have already created a percentage discount or fixed discount rule, follow the steps below to ensure the rule applies only to specific categories.

  • Click on the “ACTIONS” tab in the side menu of your Shopping Cart Price Rule settings.

Then, check the setting to apply rules to specific products in the cart.
It will be labeled as: “Apply the rule only to cart items matching the following conditions (leave blank for all items)”.

Keep the default configuration “If all these conditions are true”:

If you want to apply this rule to only one category, click on the three dots (…) and enter the category ID where you want the rule to be applied.

Click on the addition (+) icon, select the option “Category”.

If you want to apply the rule to more than one category, click on the conditional statement (which is highlighted in blue) and change it to “is one of”.

Then, click on the three dots (…) and enter the category IDs, separated by commas, where you want the rule to be applied.

If you are having trouble finding your category ID, follow these steps:

  1. Click on “Catalog”, and in the new submenu that appears, click on “Categories”.
  2. Look for the category where you want to apply the rule and click on it.
  3. Check the number in parentheses next to the category name in the top corner of the page.

Once you have the category ID, go back to your rule, click on the three dots (…), and enter the category number where you want the rule to be applied.
