This documentation guides Soul platform administrators through the registration of a simple product, explaining the necessary preliminary concepts, best practices for completing the form, and important alerts regarding required fields.

Before You Begin #

Before registering a simple product, it is important to understand two fundamental concepts:

Attribute Sets #

They are used to categorize products based on their characteristics. Each attribute set defines the fields that will be available during registration. For more information, refer to the specific documentation on Attribute Sets.

Product Types #

The platform supports various product types (such as simple, configurable, grouped, among others). A simple product is one that has no variations—i.e., it is a single version of the item, with no color, size, or other options. Common examples include electronics, appliances, or unique products.

About Simple Products #

A simple product represents an item without variations. It is not related to any other product on the platform and is handled individually. It is ideal for registering products that do not require differentiation by attributes such as size or color.

Registering a Simple Product #

The process may vary depending on the store and the associated attribute set; therefore, this documentation outlines a standard basic registration process for the platform.

How to Access the Product Registration Screen #

To begin registering a new product, follow the steps below:

  • In the side menu, hover your cursor over the Catalog tab (no need to click).
  • In the submenu that appears, click on Products.
  • On the new page, click the Add Product button located in the upper right corner of the screen.

This action will open the registration screen, where you will choose the attribute set and product type to be registered.

Required Fields #

Required fields may vary depending on the store. Always check the active configurations and the attribute sets being used. In general, the following fields are required:

  • Name
  • SKU
  • Status
  • Visibility
  • Description and short description
  • Height
  • Price

Product Information #

Recurring Profile: If disabled, no configuration is needed.

Short and Detailed Description: Provide a brief description for display in listings, and include more technical details in the detailed description.

Specific Attributes: Some attributes may appear depending on the assigned set. Always check if there are additional required fields.

Weight and Dimensions: Complete all required fields — weight, height, width, and depth.

Price: Enter values using a decimal point .

Image: While not mandatory, uploading at least one quality image is recommended. Remember to set the thumbnail and base image.

Multiseller Product: If the product is intended for resale by other sellers, enable the “Multiseller” option and refer to the specific documentation for this model.

Inventory #

For products that are not Multiseller, it is necessary to provide the stock quantity.

Configure the availability status to indicate whether the product is available for purchase.

Categories #

Select the appropriate category so the product is displayed correctly on store pages. For example:

  • Electronics > Phones
  • Home > Lighting
  • Fashion > Women

Final Recommendations #
